Governance & structure
Stewarded by UCT
The initiative is stewarded by the University of Cape Town. The clinical facility will be established as a not-for-profit undertaking, the entity this appeal supports. The radioisotope facility will operate as a separate entity under UCT Commercial Development. Each will be overseen by a board appointed for the expertise its mandate requires, within a provincial health governance environment able to run and sustain two facilities of this scale.

The project is sponsored by the Department of Higher Education and Training and recognised as a project of national and strategic significance, aligned with the National Infrastructure Plan, the National Development Plan, and the goal of universal health coverage under the NHI framework.
