We have applied to the National Treasury to support the capex cost. What remains is the final R500m on the clinical facility, and this is where philanthropy makes the difference.
The offer
Fifty partners. R10m each. One last R500m.
A founding gift of R10 million does something no ordinary donation can: it places you among the fifty names who made this centre possible, permanently recognised on the Hall of Fame at its heart. It is a once-only circle, when the fifty places are filled, the founding chapter closes.
Gifts to UCT qualify for a Section 18A tax certificate. Founding gifts are arranged personally with our team.

Tax, corporate and international giving
- Your gift is tax-deductible. Donations to UCT qualify for a Section 18A certificate, which we issue automatically, meaningfully reducing the after-tax cost of your gift.
- Corporate & CSI partners. Company giving can support your social-investment goals, with co-branding and employee-engagement options.
- Giving from outside South Africa. International partners can give in foreign currency; ask us about the most tax-effective route in your country.
Every founding gift supports the UCT Proton Therapy Initiative's not-for-profit clinical facility. Your details are handled in line with POPIA and never shared.
